Tips To Get The Blog Rolling

Below are a few of Root & Madison’s Blog tips to get your target audience reading, commenting, and sharing on your company blog.

• Embrace Uniqueness - Find new and interesting things to talk about, show off your expertize, use humor (tactful humor), reality is better than fiction.
• Blogroll- Share with other readers what you read, give those who inspire you credit, and let the world know the great finds you stumble upon.
• Guest Blog- Make friends with other bloggers.  Ask to be on a guest on their blog. Then ask them to be a guest on yours. Its is always nice to meet new faces and hear a new perspective, and it allows you to network while creating a broad base of readers.
• Stand for Something - Make sure that you have a clear idea of your path and what you are writing on- readers will appreciate the perspective.
• Incorporate Media- Link to news articles, videos from YouTube.com, and pictures to enhance your post.
• Allow comments – Let readers comment on your blog- then comment on their comments.  Blogging is about interaction and community.  Start talking.  Link to comments and allow people to leave information on where they are blogging. Comment on other blogs.  Leave a link to your blog so others can read about your topics. The more you read and comment on other blogs the more you will be read and commented on!
• Advertise Yourselves- Consider using some or all of the below aggregating sites that are dedicated to promoting you:
  • Technorati
  • StubleUpon
  • DiggThis
  • Delicious
  • BlogExplosion
  • Blogs4God
  • BlogRush

• Be interesting- Use topics that interest you, it will be more interesting to read. Only blog about subjects that you are familiar with, or that you are an expert in.  Embrace who you are and the thoughts that you have.
• Don’t give up! The more you write the more you will be heard!
